Für das seelische Wohlgefühl und als Vorbereitung auf das Fest der Freude - Weihnachten - nutzen wir den natürlichen Spannungsbogen der Natur. Vor der längsten Nacht des Jahres kehrt Ruhe ein. Wir schöpfen aus der Kraft des Sonnenaufgangs zu diesen besonderen Tagen.

Am Freitag gemütlich im Sonnenhaus ankommen mit einem Holunderpunsch. Unsere Empfehlung für Samstag: Spaziergang zum Schloss Kornberg (ca. 3 km) zur wunderbaren Weihnachtsausstellung im Parterre des Schlosses. Im 1. Stock gibt es die Möglichkeit zur Schlossführung mit dem Hausherren persönlich. Oder eine Wanderung durch die idyllische Winterlandschaft am Krippenweg Gossendorf. Mehr als 40 selbstgebaute Krippen bringen Groß und Klein zum Staunen.

Als Höhepunkt freuen wir uns am Sonntag auf das Licht. Wir treffen uns um 6:00 Uhr im Innenhof. Flackerndes Feuer strahlt Wärme aus. Mit den vorbereiteten Holzlaternen wandern wir der Sonne entgegen. Nach ca. 1 Stunde Gehzeit sind wir gut eingestimmt. Angeleitete Morgen-Meditation mit Begrüßung der Sonne. Nach unserer Rückkehr ins Sonnenhaus wartet ein gemeinsames Frühstück. Beseelter Ausklang.

Accomodation

When renovating our farm we paid a lot of attention to details. The house is build in the typical L-shape and houses apartments and cottage-suites that are equipped with heavy wooden furniture and modern standards. Located on a quiet hilltop between Riegersburg and Feldbach, the Sonnenhaus lies hidden, but still well connected. The farm house is surrounded by an extensive orchard. Small sauna for private usage (upon reservation). Fire bowls and grill for an evening out in nature. Apple trees connected by hammocks. Solar-heated outdoor pool to refresh in from April to October.

As hosts we are deeply rooted in the region Vulkanland Steiermark. We attach great importance to buying locally sourced food. In the former press we offer a regional breakfast put together with delicacies from our neighbours.

From the Sonnenhaus several hiking trails lead to culinary manufactories like Vulcano ham or Zotter chocolate. A guided tour through the brewery in our neighbourhood offers a lot of opportunities to talk about pioneers shaping the region. Along Vulkanland Route 66 tasty production sites and cultural highlights take turns wooing you.

Good to know: WIFI is available in the common areas, the reception inside the apartments is often spotty due to the thick walls. During winter we provide bathing robes for you, in summer we forgo it to save energy. There is no air-conditioning installed at the farm. The thick walls isolate and, together with a careful airing routine during the cooler night time, provide a comfortable indoor climate even during hot summer days.
